I believe in certain things.
I don’t have belief in the traditional way, like faith in a higher power. I’m a pretty staunch atheist when it comes down to questions like that. But I do have beliefs. I believe that the sun will come up, and go down. I believe that if I drop something it will fall. I believe Quantum Leap was amazing.
Most recently I believe that two of the funniest people ever to grace this dusty spinning orb have given up. Like, completely. Given up on their careers, given up on being funny, and given up on ever making a good movie again. Who, do you ask, are these two men? These two brilliant pioneers of the chuckles? Well they are like the proverbial ebony and ivory of hilarity. I of course, am talking about Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin.
Seriously though, these two motherfuckers USED to be about the two funniest men around, in my opinion. Each of them has a few decades of delicious yuk yuks behind them, between comedy albums, stand up, and movies. Seriously, Beverly Hills Cop, and The Jerk? You really don’t get much better than that.
Ok, maybe Groundhog’s Day or Young Frankenstein , but I digress…
