We headed over to catch the Gargoyles 20th anniversary presentation, but thanks to a detour for nachos, we arrived late and the panel was full. The energy of my colleague and I was not deterred though, we were both still having a blast. He, like me had not entirely enjoyed himself the day before. We both agreed that a full stomach and a proper mindset were a must before comicon immersion.
We killed time at one of the major entrances people watching and getting pictures. Gone were our snide comments to each other about the attendees and were replaced instead with a joyfulness about the oddity on display. We had picked our last two panels for the evening and were just enjoying the air cooling down outside and the vibrant energy of the costumes. Side note, being the busiest day of the con, we also saw way more variety and quality of costumes, so that probably helped our enjoyment too.
What would turn out to be our final panel of the night was one we decided to hit up on a whim. A hilarious panel on surviving various monster sand worms. Easily the most laid back and silly panel of the day, it was a nice way to unwind. The night rounded out with a last little bit of people watching, before my cohort and I made our way back to the hotel. As far as days at a comicon goes, this was the rare occasion where the sequel surpassed the original.
Until next time, you must go to the Dagobah system.
