This same person who made the Man of Fire comparison also mentioned he laughed during that scene and believed Dakota Fanning and Chloë Grace Moretz played the same character. I had thusly disowned him and will now longer acknowledge on Facebook or any other form of social media that I don’t’ use effectively. If I could un-friend him I would but I cant so I don’t.
Thirdly: The movie opens with a Mark Twain quote which I now have tattooed on my laptop screensaver, it reads “The most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.” That is real some superhero inspirational stuff. Mccall was meant to settle the score – that’s why the movie is called The Equalizer. Well that and its concept was derived from an 80’s television show. Whatever the case it took me back to the movie we all at TWB love and that’s Unbreakable. If you haven’t seen either movie then you can tune out now, I will not be insulted.
In both movies there is a scene where this quote by Mark Twain underscores the premise of a superheroes motivation. The key scene in Unbreakable comes as David Dunn, Bruce Willis’ character, foils a would-be murder. Afterwards, the very next day, he is vibrant and proud. This pivotal scene exacted itself in a manner of similar fortitude in The Equalizer when McCall exacts revenge on a room full of Russian henchmen who roughed up Not Dakota Fanning. The very next scene is McCall finally able to lay down to sleep. In most instances, legend is born from the hero acknowledging his purpose and for this reason I can out of this movie thinking, um… The Equalizer is just at equally super as any comic book character with a power or set of unyielding skills he or she uses to fight for the good of mankind. Only his body count is only higher and could reach Punisher status if he deems them worthy of a can of whoop ass.
