Legends of Oz has to be one of the worst family movies to come out to theaters this decade. I’m not that hurt though, I may be a huge fan of the Oz books but from the beginning I knew this movie would be a piece of swear but I never expected it to be this bad though. Just take a minute and realize that this year has been a near perfect year for family movies, movies like Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Muppets Most Wanted and The Lego Movie have brought fresh air into the family genre with great writing and jokes not only for kids but adults alike. Now look at this poorly written excuse of movie and take it in, the jokes are mostly puns. Now I for one love a good pun but when they’re this bad I want to never see a pun again and choke anyone who uses them.
 I’m looking at you swearhole. Now we got ourselves an alright cast I mean there’s some serious talent here the only problem is they have swear to work with and that swear makes for some seriously bad overacting that is borderline unbearable. The only person who gave an alright performance was Martin Short as the Jester but that seems almost an insult to him because he’s better than this and so is almost everyone else in this.  Except you Lea Michelle, you suck and will always suck. Now how about how this movie looks, it looks like they got interns who are too afraid to be creative to design this swear. It’s so bland to look at and so uninspired. I mean Oz should come out at you and make you want to be there even at it’s worst. But no what we get is this lame land that’s flat and dull with characters that are even less animated than paint setting.  Look at it go! And then it of course is a swearing musical, seriously this did not need songs at all. These are possible the worst thing to come from this. The songs are not catchy and are poorly preformed and make me wish I were deaf. The less said about that the better.  Legends of Oz+Pencil to ear= any given night for me Well in the end I guess I have to give this some kind of score out of five how about 1/2 a monkey coming out of a man’s back out of 5. |
